Biography of Derek Strauss - CEO & Founder of Gavroshe

Derek Strauss is the CEO, President and Principal Consultant of Gavroshe USA Inc. He has 25 years of IT industry experience, 16 years of which were in the Information Resource Management (IRM) field.  He established Data Resource Management, Architecture and IRM Functions in several large Corporations using the Zachman Framework as a basis and participated in several Application Development Projects from beginning to end of the Systems Life Cycle.

Derek established and managed numerous enterprise programs and initiatives in the domains of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Data Quality Improvement and IRM. Bill Inmon's Corporate Information Factory and John Zachman's Enterprise Architecture Framework have been the foundational cornerstones of his work. He is an active member of DAMA (The Data Management Association) and TDWI (The Data Warehouse Institute) and is currently serving as VP of Programs for DAMA SW Ohio.

Derek is specialized in IT Systems Reverse Engineering and Re-engineering Methods, Tools and Techniques, and their inter-relationship with Business Process Re-engineering and Corporate Repositioning Method-sets. He uses most of the popular Methods (including Tetrarch, Method/1, IEM, Spiral Methodologies) and CASE Tools (Plan/1, Design/1, IEW, IEF, ADW, PM/SS, MSP Family Products, ERWin, BPWin, Designer).

Derek is a Specialist Workshop Facilitator for all levels (clerical to Board-level) of workshops.   Has spoken at several local and international conferences on IRM-related issues, including a seminar series on Data Warehouse in Eastern Europe (Prague, Budapest, Warsaw, Vienna).
